The water is pretty murky, however, definitely not swimmable. I assume it must have been clearer when the water level was higher. There are a few nice stands of trees and small grassy hills around the lake providing for scenic sunsets. Depending on when you go, it can be very buggy.

Fishing is permitted at the park except on the causeway bridges. You can take home what you catch, but catch and release is preferred.

Crawling Valley Reservoir is on the south side of the highway. The lake has a good variety of fish, and fishermen often return to Drumheller boasting of the size of the fish they catch. Walleye in the lake are big but regulations state they are catch and release only, as the stocks are being replenished.
