This is MF’s signature ability – a target spell with a short cooldown. Usually you will finish your opponents with it. It even has an AP ratio – 35% And if you kill a target with the first shot the second one deals 200% damage, which means it can scale up to 70% of AP!

I wanted to play something that was hard to all in, and can match his roam, while also making it impossible for him to farm, this is when I realized that MF was actually the perfect pick to counter Talon. 10 games later, 10 victories later, the opinion that MF is a viable mid solidified.

Q (Double Up) – Miss Fortune fires a shot at a target enemy that deals physical damage, which then bounces to hit another unit behind it. The shot applies on-hit effects, including Love Tap.

What is the best counter to AP MF?
(Very) high mobility and burst are the biggest counters to AP MF. While playing as Mage Fortune is a solid pick against most champions, these in particular can assassinate MF with low effort. Luckily a lot of the champions from above are common bans.
Which Champs used to scale with AP?
So a lot of the champs who seem obviously full AD today (e.g. Sivir, Master Yi, Sion, Trist, MF of course) actually used to scale with AP. This system allowed distinctly different playstyles to exist within the same champion kit, which is a feature of LoL that I miss the most (more about this in “opinion time” section).

This is the most important ability of AP Miss Fortune. The strong slow, the AOE magic damage, which has an 80% AP scaling, and it’s strong synergy with runes make it a very strong poke tool both in lane and in teamfights.
Does armor pen scale with AP or ad?
This is pretty ok although MF will rarely build AP outside of aram so the AP scaling isn’t really needed. W: Scales with AD however it deals magic damage so armor pen has no effect on it and it would require magic pen instead. E: Scales only with AP and deals magic damage.
