What is HDRI texture?
HDRI (High Dynamic Range Image) is the magic word when it comes to creating ultra realistic images. While normal textures save their color values between (0.0, 0.0, 0.0) for black and (1.0, 1.0, 1.0) for white, an HDRI can have much brighter values than (1.0, 1.0, 1.0). These values can go up to 100.000.
What are Hdris used for?
HDRI environments are commonly used for rendering architectural renderings. These panoramic images, who vary in tone and mood, give a realistic lighting effect on 3D scenes and objects. It also adds more natural light to a scene.
What resolution is HDRI?
The horizontal field of view of the 35mm (default) camera in Blender is about 49º, which is about 14% of 360º. If the resolution of the render is 1920×1080, then the HDRI’s horizontal resolution needs to be at least 1920*(100/14), which is just shy of 14000 pixels.
