When did the Ping g10 3 wood come out?
The 3-wood is very good, but for some reason is not as easy to hit as the 4 or 5 wood and in our tests we managed to get the higher number clubs to go almost as far….Ping G10 Fairway Wood – Product Details.

What club goes further 3 or 5 wood?
LENGTH. The higher the golf club number, the shorter the club shaft length. A 3 wood is the longest fairway wood (usually 43”-42”), the 5 wood (42”-41”) and the 7 wood (41”-40”), although length will vary depending on the manufacturer.
Are 3 wood and 5 wood shafts the same?
The 3 wood has a shaft length of between 42 and 43 inches whilst the 5 wood is a little shorter again at between 41 and 42 inches. This is, of course, another contributing factor to the length they go. Many top players use slightly shorter shafts to increase their accuracy with the longer clubs.

What club does a 5 wood replace?
The larger clubhead of a fairway wood compared to an iron makes it easier to achieve more distance without over-swinging. As a rough rule of thumb, a 5 wood would replace a 2 iron, a 7 wood the 3 or 4 iron, a 9 wood the 5 iron.
Is a 3 wood or 5 wood easier to hit?
5 wood, in fact, can go as farther as 3 wood because its relatively shorter shaft makes the golf club easier to hit/control. You’re most likely hitting longer with a 3 wood because of the particular shaft flex on that more than anything else.
What makes Ping G10 fairway woods different?
Ping G10 Fairway Woods 1 Crown intersects sole for low profile 2 Shallow, longer face for increased hitting area 3 Large, internal weight pad lowers CG for optimal launch 4 Lower lead edge More
Why do Ping put a 3 wood shaft in a 4 wood?
This is because of the low centre of gravity getting the ball higher with less spin, so Ping have actually put a 3 wood shaft in their G10 4 wood as standard so try out both versions before you decide.
Do you like the Ping G10 driver?
I loved my G10 driver, but I did not like the G10 woods. The wood feels head heavy and it doesn’t feel balanced in my hands. Like a flat metal pancake at the end of a pole. I also found the face too shallow. I’ve owned all of Ping’s drivers since the G5, and loved them all.
Is the Ping TFC 129 shaft any good?
The standard Ping TFC 129 shaft is OUTSTANDING for these woods. Somehow it has a perfect balance of enough flexibility yet enough stiffness in the tip for accuracy AND distance.
