What is Inheritance? Inheritance is a mechanic in Fire Emblem Awakening where if a child is about to be recruited, it will ‘inherit’ two skills from each parent (or one in the case of Village Maiden! Lucina). The skills are chosen by the last skill in the order or the one in the center of skill diagram.

Characters may start off with certain Skills from the onset and they can learn new Skills by levelling up. The Skills a character can learn depend on their class; after changing classes, characters retain all learned Skills, so by changing classes multiple times, characters can obtain many Skills at their disposal.
