What is URSP in 5G?
The URSP includes information mapping certain user data traffic (i.e. applications) to 5G PDU Session connectivity parameters. The user data traffic is defined in the URSP rule by a “traffic descriptor” parameter that can include e.g. IP filter parameters or Application Identity.
What is S Nssai?
Network Slice Selection Assistance Information (NSSAI) – The NSSAI is a collection of up to 8 S-NSSAIs. Single Network Slice Selection Assistance information (S-NSSAI) – It identifies a Network Slice. S-NSSAI = Slice/Service type (SST) + Slice Differentiator (SD).
What is a URSP?
URSP is a network slice feature enabled by the PCF which informs the network slice status to the UE via the AMF. In 4G network systems, it was near impossible to install new services in the network for a UE. But through the URSP feature, 5G network operators can easily configure new service for a UE.
What is SST and SD in 5G?
SST: It refers to the expected Network Slice behavior in terms of features and services. Slice Differentiator (SD): It is an optional information that complements the Slice/Service type(s) to differentiate amongst multiple Network Slices of the same Slice/Service type.
How many single network slice selection assistance information’s-Nssai are there in a Nssai?
8 S-NSSAI
The NSSAI is a collection of up to 8 S-NSSAI (Single – Network Slice Selection Assistance Information) and is sent to the network by the UE to assist the network in selecting a particular Network Slice.

What is slice service type?
Slice service type refers to an expected network behavior in terms of features and services (e.g. specialized for broadband or massive IoT), while the slice differentiator can help selecting among several Network Slice instances of the same type, e.g. to isolate traffic related to different services into different …
