Is Denby safe?
The color in Denby glass is created by rolling clear glass in colored chips and melting them so that they fuse. The result makes the color permanent and irremovable, and because it contains no lead, Denby glass is safe for use in the dishwasher.
Is Denby Pottery always marked?
There are numerous ‘Denby’ marks. In general, the words ‘Bourne’ (up to circa 1960) and/or ‘Denby’ appear prominently. Early marks were impressed, or later stencilled onto the base of the ware, in keeping with the hand-thrown or turned nature of most of the Denby wares.
Is any Denby made in China?
But Denby dinnerware, stoneware and china – which come from a village in the heart of Derbyshire – are the exception to the rule. Denby pottery (or rather stoneware) has been made in the village for the last 200 years, but the company is also fast gaining a reputation for porcelain and china.
