Why did ATA Airlines Fail?
On April 2, 2008, ATA declared bankruptcy and ceased all operations. This sudden end came about after FedEx abruptly canceled ATA’s longstanding military charter contract. Combined with a significant increase in the price of jet fuel, ATA did not have enough capital to stay in business.

ATA was the best job ever. Besides getting paid to travel, the opportunity to experience diverse cultures is priceless. The company offered yearly raises and a variety of discounts for its employees. Discounts included food, lodging, travel and more. ATA also extended discount benefits to the family members of employees.

Definitely miss flying for free, killer hotel discounts, but mostly I miss my fellow co-workers and great life long friends I made while working at ATA Airlines…..

ATA was a great airline and everyone that worked there was like family. It’s hard to find companies where the owner / CEO took time to meet with it’s employees.
